Dr. Jones graduated with his doctoral degree from Temple University in School Psychology. While at the Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Jones completed his doctoral internship in pediatric psychology. Further post-doctoral training was completed at Nemours/A. I. duPont Hospital for Children, with specializations in pediatric pain management and psychosocial management of acute and chronic illnesses.
Dr. Jones has extensive experience in assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and consultation. Moreover, Dr. Jones works with children, adolescents, and young adults with such difficulties as attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (AD/HD), anxiety, depression, challenging behaviors, as well as emotions and behaviors associated with everyday stressors related to peers, family, and school. Related to Dr. Jones’s specialty training, he has a particular interest in working with individuals with chronic health problems, including diabetes, chronic pain, physical rehabilitation, among others.
Taking a collaborative approach to treatment, Dr. Jones often consults with medical providers, schools, and other parties with a vested interest in the child. His theoretical orientation is cognitive behavioral therapy while also utilizing acceptance-based strategies. Dr. Jones emphasizes the mind-body connection and utilizes relaxation and mindfulness-based approaches.
Prior to obtaining his PhD from Temple University, Dr. Jones graduated from Villanova University (BA, Psychology) and Nottingham Trent University (MSc, Psychology), and obtained advanced graduate study at Eastern University (School Psychology). He is a member of the American Psychological Association (Division 16: School Psychology and Division 54: Society for Pediatric Psychology) and the National Association of School Psychologists.
